Your DVD player would need a HDMI output in order to connect directly to this TV as there are no Component (R/G/B), S-Video, or RCA inputs. 
You would need to purchase an adapter or have an AV receiver that has those inputs with a HDMI output.

Yes, but only if the DVD player has hdmi, this TV doesn't support component hook ups
