As long as your computer has SATA connections it will work. These connections differ from the older ribbon IDE cables.

If you can, have it as your primary hard drive as doing this will speed up your computer. If you connect this SSD to your computer while still having the original HDD connected, you can download a program from Samsung and essentially clone the HDD onto the SSD. Then format the original HDD, switch the cables being used so the HDD is the secondary hard drive, and you will speed up your computer and add memory at the same time.
