As long as you have a spare NVME slot it should work. You might need to buy the M2 screw needed to secure it into the drive slot. My desktop computer actually HAD an M2 screw screwed into the empty NVME slot. (Thank you Dell!!!).

The Thinkpad 380ED uses an IDE interface for its storage, which is not compatible with the M.2 NVMe drives like the 990 EVO. - Samsung Memory
