I had a couple of issues getting into charge on my iPhone X as well. What it came down to was making sure that I set the phone on the charging pad correctly. When it's on correctly the charger lights up blue.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Has to be centered and hitting correct spot

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You may just not be centering it enough. The charging coils in the iPhone 8 are in the center of the phone, under the Apple logo. If your case is thick or has any metal in it, it could be interfering with the charging.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.short answer is NO. You're not doing anything wrong, the Samsung Fast Charger has issues, I have gone through 3 units and all fail after 5 or 6 weeks. The charger becomes VERY sensitive to the iPhone position on the charging ring, eventually it just stops charging. This failure will happen about the same time the store return window closes. Yes, you will have to go and buy another wireless charger, I would suggest purchasing a generic $10 unit from Walmart, they seem to last longer than the Samsung.
