• Dont know if it uses energy while not charging anything if so the amount is very little.

• All chargers draw current when plugged in. Measured over a year it will add up. Either the manufacturer will have this information or you might find it on your power companies web site.

• I think the only way you’re going to get that answer is by contacting either Samsung or getting a loop charge reader to place over the cord. I will say that the light stays off until you need it, and given that it activates only when you put a phone down on it (that’s qi-capable) there’s likely a small but insignificant power charge going to it.
