• It's not a portable charger. It plugs into the wall and sits on the table. All you do is lay your device on top of it instead of plugging it in. It wirelessly charges your compatible device.

• No, plug it into an outlet which you get a usb cord and a outlet adapter and lay the phone on top of the charger and it will charge itself. It does not need batteries. Remember when you lay the phone on the charger wait until you see on the screen of your phone a beep and it says it's charging before you walk away!
