Yes, a metal plate will interfere with or charging.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. I just went through that with my s9. I was able to position the metal plate towards the bottom of the s9 and the charger works fine however it does seem to charge a bit slower. That might just be my imagination though.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I used to have a magnetic mount but found it did not work well with the wireless charger. The magnetic piece was just thick enough along with the thickness of the case to not allow the phone to charge. So the case you use will matter. Regarding if it will harm or not i have no idea.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes any metal plate attached to the case will most likely prevent the wireless charger from working. If you can get it to work it may also over heat the device and cause damage to it. I have the same issue. I had a case I put the metal disc on and even though I place the disc near the very top of my case it prevented wireless charging. My case was split and I could take the phone out easily but after doing that for a few months the case will not stay together now so it is useless now. I now have two vehicles with magnetic holders and no phone to attach if I want to use wireless charging.
