Not 100% sure, but it charges my s10 through an otterbox defender, so I would assume it will charge through the life proof

Yes it will. I have one on my S9 and it does that perfectly, Not only that but also can charge your S gear watch if you already have one or ever plan to get one. (Highly recommended to compliment your new phone if you don't have one, plus it's way more cost efficient than an Apple Watch)
