can I get the internet when I connect a smart dvd player with built in wifi to my smart tv/ I want to be able to get the internet on my smart tv. I was told I could get the internet using the tv as a monitor if I connected a smart dvd with built in wifi to the tv. Please let me know if this is possible, and how to do it. Thanks

I was not able to access just the internet. Otherwise it would have been more of what I was looking for. I only see a way to use the apps that are preloaded.

All smart TV and Smart Blue Ray disc connects to internet via wired or wireless transmission. But these devices have a few canned programs like Netflix, Hulu, Utube etc. preloaded and those are the only one's you can access. If you go to Utube it allows you a keyboard in its search mode. But if you are looking for using your TV as a monitor and the device to offer you a keyboard to do other searches in the internet.....check out for a high end player that offers a remote control keyboard to access internet.

I think thats right. I could get Netflix through the internet on my non-smart tv using this smart dvd player. I have not yet tried other internet connections but my understanding is that it would work.

Yes, you can view the Smart TV platform on your TV as if the platform was on the television itself.

So when you start your Blu-Ray player, you can enter the Smart Hub option and view streaming music and video and apps (depending on the model), and watch that content on your TV.

Rather than "using the Internet", the Smart Hub platform allows you to download Apps for services like Netflix, Pandora and other popular services. For more information and a demonstration, reach out to your Best Buy sales associate.
