Hi Tango001, We understand your question about the ice maker and whether it can be turned off and if the space for the ice maker can be used for something other than ice. You can turn the Ice Maker on or off. Head over to the control panel located inside the fridge on the right side. Press the ice maker button until the "cubed ice on" and "ice bites on" indicators are turned off. It is recommended to not put food in the ice bucket. Frozen food may damage the ice maker, especially when you open or close the door. The ice buckets can be removed for extra storage while the ice maker is disabled/turned off. Leo
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Inside fridge where controls are located. Hold the unlock button till chimes then where it shows ice maker if you hit that till it shows off that will shut ice makers off or you can just shut one side off if you only want one size of cubes
