As long as your phone supports MicroSD XC (it does), you should be fine. Technically you can expand up to 2TB with XC but that isn't currently available.

My samsung phone only allows sd card as external storage. However motorola does allow you to configure the sd card as external or internal supplement memory. the sd card is capable of the speed transfer.
