I've had mine plugged in since I bought it had no trouble at all. Gets warm while charging but stays cool when not in use.

Please try again later.You don't have to, just be aware it will be still drawing some electricity, not much but any power adapter plugged in the wall outlet will use a little power (touch a power adapter if it is warm it is using some electricity). Otherwise it's no issue.
