• If you pay cash you don't have to do anything. Just use other sim and your set to go. Personally i regret buying this phone is way to slow for updates from the Android store. I also have the Samsung Note 9 and i love that phone.

• No, you don't have to, but you can't get the cheapest price for it if you don't. Still worth it. $174.99 new, or they have some open box options.
