“I read bad reviews on all brands of phones and all carriers about problems with esims. This phone (galaxy A54 5G) supposedly has one physical sim slot and one memory (micro sd) slot. Can the memory slot be used as a second physical sim slot?”

I dont think so. The micro sd slot has cuts to accommodate micro sd card. Physical sim slot is little bigger and different. I believe if you need two physics sim slot, you need to buy international version from elsewhere.
