“Has anybody successfully opened a new line with Verizon with a 2 year agreement by purchasing through bestbuy.com?? If I go through the process of purchasing the phone on Bestbuy.com it appears like I am signing up with a 2 new year plan not Verizon Edge which is great.. has anybody successfully signed up with a NEW 2 year contract by purchasing online? I am not upgrading I want to start new service but I don't want to do the Verizon Edge.”

Yes, you have to call Verizon to activate phone.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I did not add a line, but traded an upgrade through best buy. I was able to do the two year agreement which I was happy about because I do not want any parts of that Verizon edge again.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I upgraded a line through Best Buy on a 2yr contract. I really don't see the difference between an upgrade and a new line because Verizon has effectively ended contracts. HOWEVER... 3rd party vendors can allow contract pricing and agreements even though Big Red does not. I would not have any concerns starting a new line with Best Buy and getting a 2 yr contract. You'll know immediately because of the price (i.e. monthly payments vs large lump payment).
