Yes - You own the phone then as you have paid $810 for it which includes the $150 discounted price. If you choose the 18 month lease at $40 then you need to return the phone. With the lease if you keep it and continue paying the $40/month eventually you will outright own it.

If you lease the phone after 18 months you still don't own the phone and any payment made after the 18 months goes directly to Sprint and you still will not own the phone. You can buy the phone from them after the 18-month lease and they will break the difference of the price to purchase the phone into 6 monthly payments where you can own the phone. But you need to notify them that you want to buy the phone, otherwise like I stated, any payment after 18 months just goes to Sprint.
