“cell phones and plans right for me. I am a 62 young male. Don"t have a cell phone but would like to purchase one for use maybe 2-3 times a week. I would not use phone for texting. I would be interested in a cell plan for that type of use. Thanks”

I don't know of any smart phones that come without texting as part of the plan. You would have to look at a more basic phone for that. If you like the other features of the smart phone (like apps, games, syncing with e-mail, etc.), then you'll have to take the data plan that goes with it.
