“I want to upgrade from my S5 to an S10. I already have a Verizon plan, will I still have to pay an activation fee? Will my sim card work in the S10?”

You will need to call Verizon to activate your new phone but the process is less than 10 minutes. You will also pay a $40 activation fee despite already being a Verizon customer.

The S10 comes with its own Sim card. The transfer of contacts, apps, & pictures is done via a cord or wireless, from old phone to new phone. I tried changing out Sim cards, from my S7 to my S10 and the phone wouldn't activate/work. I called the helpdesk and was told the original SIM needs to stay in the S10.
