I bought my phone at Best Buy. They had a better discount than thru Verizon. I ended up paying for 90% of my balance and only had to "finance" a tiny amount thru my Verizon account on a two year plan. That did not affect my current calling plan (6Gig Large) so you should be ok there... Just log onto your Verizon account to verify what plan you have after you purchase. It should be the same...

I noticed that my monthly phone bill increased as per my agreement as well as the one time $40 upgrade fee. All I paid at the time of purchase was the State tax on the RETAIL Value not the discounted price.
