“I use telecom as my service provider, but when I go to the option of purchasing this phone telecom doesn't appear but say verizon does. Can I buy the phone unlocked with a different service and then put my current telecom sim card in?”

yes this option is available according to the salesperson that i bought it from at best buy so i recommend it highly
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.As long as you get the unlocked version of the phone it should work, unless it shows that it will not work with a specific carrier. Most will work with the GSM carriers (AT&T, T-Mobile, Metro PCS). If your carrier is a CDMA (Verizon or Sprint), or runs off of one of those networks make sure you read to make sure it will work. Usually as a rule though an unlocked phone will work with any carrier.
