Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I too have bought the unlocked phone for that very reason of possible switching of networks. So far I'm not disappointed in the phone, it's great. The camera is very clear and the focus is just what 4KHD looks like. Super fast and a ton of space. You, however, won't be able to use your S8 Sim card though. All the S20's are 5G so your SC has to be 5G which best buy does give to you if you activate the phone through them. ($40 one time fee). If by meaning the Verizon messaging+, indicating that speaking Verizon to Verizon, you won't get charged? The msging app actually doesn't matter in that since. As long as the individuals have the exact same network, it's free calling/video chat. Samsung has its own app of course but it's no additional cost you can use it still to video chat. I do my chats through FB messenger though, because you can share your screen, view things together and even watch other videos such as movies, together. But if you do want Verizon msg app then yes you can have it. Just make sure you select it from your Google Play Store Acct - Library to install on your phone. If you got through best buy they'll also transfer all your stuff over for you using the Smart Switch app. You just have to download it first onto your current phone before going to the store, that way it's ready for transferring your items.
