Yes you can however your Samsung S3 cable WONT quickly charge the S7. Only the charger it comes with charges the S7 quickly. The circular wireless "fast" charger DOESNT charge half as fast as the wall charger, but it came free with my purchase so I cannot complain.

Some 3rd party cables have bigger protection around the physical plug (place you hold while plugging in and unplugging). The only issue there is with cases, some cases need a thinner plug surround (like the Samsung branded cables). Other than that, they are all the same.
