• You will have to pay the monthly fee for your phone, which is the price of the phone divided by 24 months. There is a $30 activation fee, but if you complain, they will probably remove it. You can also lease the phone, but still have to pay a monthly fee.

• Depends on your carrier, I would think. I have Sprint and was able to take my S7 in and upgrade to the S9 with zero dollars out of pocket at the store. I signed up for the Samsung for Life though, so I'm leasing the phone for an extra charge on my bill each month with no other changes to our plan...
