I am not sure that I fully understand this question. There are two items that make up the keyboard and cover. By just attaching the keyboard to the Galaxy Tab S7+ both the tablet and the keyboard will lay flat. However if you prefer that the tablet be viewed upright then you must attach the cover to the tablet. Both the keyboard and the cover attach to the tablet easily via magnets. They also detach easily from the tablet. Hope that this answers your inquiry.
