• If Consumer Cellular has a SIM card, then this phone should work with that carrier as it is unlocked. Open Box means the phone was returned for some reason and therefore, it is discounted. I am not sure if this one was returned or not, but, I got a great deal on it.

• I also need an answer to this question. I've seen the SIM cards on sale at Target so I know that they're available. I called Consumer Cellular and was told that I would need these things to test compatibility: the unique IEMI number for the device and the CC sim card. Inserting the card and acceptance will verify that it is CC compatible and verifies that the phone is unlocked. I need an answer, but don't want to go through purchasing and possibility of returning it. This is an expensive 'what if'.
