You will see a lightening bolt in the battery symbol in the top right corner of the screen

It has a circle that comes on when you first put on charge and makes a noise too

The same way you'd tell if it didn't have a cover on the phone. This case doesn't block the screens at all, so as long as you have the display settings to show the battery level you'll be able to tell it's charging.

When the phone is closed, a message shows on the sqare screen. It will tell you what percentage your phone is at as well as how many minutes until fullly charged.
