This phone case only protects the back of the device so if you drop your phone chances are it's going to hit one of the other sides too. Also due to its design and being a minimalist clear case it doesn't offer much in the way of cushion or added protection with softer inserts or air bubble packs built into the phone case. It's simply a flexible clear shell so I wouldn't count on it actually protecting the phone adequately if it fell onto something that could severely damage your device. What is something to just make sure your phone doesn't get scratched up and whatnot in at least gets that done. I just would not count on it to protecting your phone in the event it falls as the front of the phone and the hinge are completely exposed
