• Your TV should work fine with this sound bar. What you would need to check on is whether the content that you would be playing has Dolby Atmos. I’m not sure whether the Directv satellite DVR records content in 4K/Dolby Atmos. However, if you were to stream content t using a Chromecast, Fire Stick (or some other similar device) you would then be able to get Dolby Atmos on whatever content has that format.

• Hello MikeM, The HW-Q750B Soundbar has the ability to play Dolby Atmos content, you will need to check with DirecTV and inquire if their cable boxes have the ability to send Dolby Atmos content. ~Samsung Solutions
