“How does the soundbar know which is the right rear or left rear speaker in order to get proper surround sound. Is there a way to make sure they are correctly identified”

It’s Samsung! Trust that they got it right. Facing your television, place the left speaker to your left and the right speaker to your right. Easy connection. Great surround sound!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi Peter! Located on the back of each speaker there is information regarding the model and serial number, as well as an indication if it is the left or right speaker. You will see "SURROUND SPEAKER LEFT" or "SURROUND SPEAKER RIGHT". ^Tim
