If you don't have a uhd 4k tv or a suhd 4k tv, it is pointless buying this tv. That's like playing a blu ray movie using an old school back and white tv...
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can indeed hook up this 4K bluray player to a 1080p TV or even a 720p TV. You can set the output to a lower resolution such as 1080p or 720p. But hooking it up to a 1080p TV will not allow you to View 4K content from it. The Bluray player will check with your TV and decide what the best resolution its compatable with. This is called EDID. The source device checks the display’s HDMI port for the presence of an EDID prom and uses the information inside to optimize the output video and/or audio format. Basically its a handshake between devices to come up with a compatable solution both devices will use so they can work together.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. All you need is an HDMI cable. Make sure it's a fairly recent cable. Don't spend extra for somethings like a "high speed" or "ultra" as there's no difference other than marketing and a higher price tag for the same thing.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Lem, It's a samsung blu ray player, capable of playing 4k (black package) discs. It is compatible w/Samsung LED TV's. You just want to get a decent HDMI cable to connect to your TV. If you use a standard HDMI, you won't get as good a picture quality as you would if you had a higher end cable.
