I do not think this MP3 player can download any apps, at all. It is not a touch screen and does not have internet access. All the music is stored on the device itself, or on a micro-disc card that can be sideloaded. You could likely load audio book files on the device, if you have permanent files, but I do not think borrowing books from the library app will work since it cannot connect to the internet...but check with your local library first; I only have music files on my device, no audiobooks.
