• A:Answer It uses micro USB connection. It will charge when you plug it in the USB connection on your PC or power plug in an outlet. Also, my car radio charges it while I listen to it when plugged in the USB outlet. You can hook it to speakers using the the headphone jack if one is available.

• A:Answer No, it is Not compatible- the last MP3 player was the Clip+ I mistakenly bought the Jam thinking since it had an SD card slot that it would play the old SR cards. It does not! It does not support these type of DRM Cards.

• A:Answer "file format not supported" probably means, that the file is not a mp3 file, probably a M4a file that the device cannot read, or does not understand. There are programs (or maybe windows can do it) that can convert non-mp3 files to a mp3 format so the device can play them. I have a similar file, but I have not taken the time to attempt a conversion to a mp3 file. That is my understanding - but I am in nooooo way a techie!
