“having problems getting out of radio and into mp3 player. Also can not get radio to change from 107.9 (static) to any other stations”

the towers will affect receptivity and the closer you are to a major city the easier to tune in stations and clearer. MP3 players are older tech and are not as compatible so you may have to use older phones with it
