“How many songs can I put on it? If I was given this as a gift with music on it already can I reverse the transfer and move from the sandisk to my computer? Why is the screen so difficult to see in daylight? What is the next larger unit for storage?”

You can change the songs, by computer or you can just delete them from the device. The next size is 32, it holds a couple of hundred songs.
