Yes. There are many parts to each audio book when I download from my library. If I go to other functions after listening to audio book before shutting down, you just have to remember what part you're on, click on it and the player will ask if you want to resume or start over. If you are playing an audiobook and pause before turning off, it will pick up right where you left off.
