You can create a "Playlist" by putting songs in a folder. The firmware will allow you to select just that folder for playback. Fortunately, if you have several folders set up, you can play all the music by selecting the "shuffle" function and it will play them in random order.

Yes, you can create multiple playlist on this MP3 player. It also come with sorting functionality to filter music files by Artist, Album etc. You may refer to the user manual of this MP3 player using the below mentioned link :
