Hi, we apologize for the inconvenience. If your SanDisk Extreme Portable SSD appears full despite having no content, it may need to be reformatted, especially if it’s using a file system that is not fully compatible with your operating system. First, check for data backup, as formatting is a data-destructive process. However, if it is genuinely empty and still not functioning, formatting it according to your operating system may help resolve the issue. For Windows PCs, use NTFS for formatting. For Macs, consider APFS or HFS+, and the exFAT file system is suitable for cross-platform use between Windows and Mac. Please see, (https://support-en.sandisk.com/app/answers/detailweb/a_id/51125)
