It comes formatted in exFAT which can be read/written by a PC and a Mac. If you are planning on using it on both a PC and a Mac I would leave it the way it is.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I purchased this to use with the new MacBook Pro since Apple removed the DVD drive. It worked as soon as I connected it without any issues. Was able to down load a DVD to my MacBook without having to do anything special. I am sure it will work the same with Windows.
