Case slides to cover the end but not completley enclosed.

you push the button on top and the part slides out. You then insert it into whatever you want to move info to or from. There is no cap to keep up with. It is only one piece. The inside slides out and back in.

There isn't a cap as the usb slides in and out of its protective casing.

It does not need a cap. the part that sticks out slides into the main body so you do not need a cap to take care of. Good design.
