You’d have to attach a splitter to be able to have an audio out to headphones. Otherwise the phone will give priority to the microphone and won’t send to the speakers

You can use this for Siri, but his will not work for phone calls because you will not be able to hear the other caller with a Lightning mic plugged in. It is designed for recording audio to video and audio recording apps. If you want a better mic for calls, a good pair of Bluetooth headphones will be much better for you.
