• It uses a USB 3 interface, works with USB 2 as well. Check to see if 10.6.8 has usb drivers (and if your mac has a usb port). If you have the port it should work....

• I believe so--as long as the Mac has a USB plug...it says will work with either platform (Mac or PC). I have it hooked up to a PC, though.
