I believe since you are running optical cable from transmitter to tv I would suggest you run audio cable from your Xbox to your analog port on your transmitter that way you can switch from optical to analog for your xbox

Please try again later.Depending on the model of your TV, you should be able to change the audio output manually, via the settings menu, to "optical" as default is usually set to internal speakers. Why it's doing it only for the XBox, I don't know. I have a PS4 with ARC, so everything switches automatically to "optical" when I turn the headphones on and back to ARC when I shut them off. Sometimes it will not switch back to ARC, so I will manually switch the audio output via the settings menu. As I do not have a XBox, could there be a setting on the XBox that is preventing the audio signal going to "optical" output?
