how can you hook them up to a boston sound bar null

Why would you hook them up to what is, essentially, a speaker? To listen to TV, DVD, etc. hook them to the TV via a optical cable. Your headphones are the speakers.

Not sure...I have a Yamaha reciever

You can plug them into any sound bar that has a headphone out jack.
