169.99 at crutchfield.com My tv shut off the speakers when I plugged into the headphone jack. I think most tv's will do the same. It comes with a little transformer that plugs into the wall and the back of the base to power the unit. It comes with a 3.5mm audio cable that plugs into the tv headphone jack and the back of the base unit.
