Hello Shari, for standard installation if installed correctly, with enough space to ventilate the unit will not damage your cabinet. For flushed installation, you should purchase a deflector vent which should help the unit to ventilate properly. Please be advised that there should be no closed cabinet installed directly beneath the unit. Please have your carpenter or installer view the installation manual for proper installation. For further advise please contact us at [email protected] and include the model number in your email.
