Can the speakers to placed on a shelf away from the main body of the system? null

The speakers are not bluetooth but are "wired". The wire is a very thin gauge and are permanently connected to the back of the speaker and are not easily accessible. However, I imagine that if you have the same gauge wire (red and black) you could make an extension to the end of the speaker wire before manually connecting it into the back of the main body. Not sure how the longer length of wire would effect the sound. But as is, a great system for the price.

The speakers attach by speaker wires to the base player. There is one double wire per speaker. The two speakers can be located on the right and left side of the player the distance of the wire lenght from the base player.
