“I am unable to access my cable TV. I do not have a cable box but simply a cable that comes into my family room. I have attached this cable to the cable input but the TV does not recognize or I get a message that says "cable not hooked up". Sharp TV 50.”

• I also have an AUX satellite cable without the box in my bedroom. I would check to make sure the connections on your main receiver box are tight.
