I would say yes because the CD compartment moves out towards the room, not up.

Hello, this unit can be placed under a cabinet once there will be nothing stored on the unit. Please be advised that this unit should be away from direct sunlight, strong magnetic fields, excessive dust, humidity and electronic/electrical equipment (home computers, facsimiles, etc.) which generate electrical noise. The unit should also not be exposed to moisture, to temperatures higher than 140˚F (60˚C) or to extremely low temperatures.
