“Just got the 65" model. Everything seems good except black uniformity (clouding) in black/dark/empty areas on the panel, shown when navigating the menu system and letterbox movies. Does everyone show some of this uniformity characteristic?”

Yes the lower third of my screen had this darkening effect. The Sharp support team was not able to rectify. Best buy replaced the tv, replacement unit seems fine.

No worries, those ghosts that you see won't harm you nor will it impact and appear on your regular TV programming. It will, however, appear on any black background. Some cable and satellite boxes can allow you to change the background color on your TV in some cases so that you will not have a black background on your TV.
