No, they are not noise canceling and also do not cover your ear opening like most headphones. These are designed to let you hear your surroundings.

You hear your external environment but these headphones using the bone transducer technology is like telepathically transmitting your music to your internal hearing organ parts.

We believe that safety and situational awareness comes from being able to hear our surroundings, therefore, all AfterShokz, including Aeropex has an open-ear design. Ambient noises can still be heard while wearing our headphones due to this design. However, we do include earplugs in the box for times when you want to block out environmental/ ambient noise depending on your preference and situation.
